Crow Canyon Commons in San Ramon is now home to a new day spa that seeks to make its services affordable and accessible to all while strengthening community ties, according to its owners.

Spavia’s San Ramon location debuted with a ribbon cutting ceremony June 18, a milestone for the local couple Kristy and Booker Lucas who have operated the day spa’s Pleasant Hill location since 2018 and sought to bring its services closer to home with the new San Ramon location.

“Our success at Spavia is deeply rooted in the strong relationships we’ve built with our community and our passion to serve others,” said Kristy Lucas in a press release July 1. “We believe that a business thrives when it genuinely cares for its people, both employees and guests. We value how Spavia provides their guests access to luxurious spa services without breaking the bank, and we are confident that the San Ramon location will continue to do so.”

The new location opened its doors approximately 20 years after Spavia was first founded in Colorado in 2005, spreading in the time since then to more than 50 locations across 23 states.

Services provided include massage, skin care treatments, waxing and make up services, which are available for single appointments as well as via a membership model that offers monthly services at a $40 discount. Retail products including skincare, candles, jewelry and recovery tools are also available at each location.

The new location marks an extension of Spavia’s reach with highly experienced leadership at the helm. Kristy Lucas holds an esthetician’s license and experience at Bay Area spas along with 20 years of brand strategy and marketing experience. For his part, Booker Lucas boasts executive retail experience in the health and wellness industry.

“We’re excited to see Kristy and Booker expand their Spavia footprint with this new location,” said Spavia CEO and Co-Founder Marty Langenderfer. “Their team’s dedication to cultivating a nurturing environment and providing exceptional care to their guests has set a high standard within the Spavia family.”

While the Lucases have been successfully operating Spavia’s Pleasant Hill location for years – which had been the company’s only Bay Area operation – the new San Ramon site marks the first venture into the Tri-Valley for Spavia.

“This expansion is a testament to their commitment to wellness and the strong bonds they’ve built with their community,” Langenderfer said. “As Spavia continues to grow, it’s inspiring to witness the positive energy and shared vision that unites our owners, team members, and the communities we serve.”
